Digital Consortium was commissioned to write copy for Yorkshire Building Society’s new Shareplan website and system. This system enables their clients to manage their own employee share schemes. There are public pages on the site accessible to all visitors and also a login area, which was to contain information tailored to employees in their company’s share scheme.
As well as providing copywriting expertise, Digital Consortium was requested to manage the translation of the copy into Dutch, French, German and Spanish so that the website and system could be used by the employees of companies that have sites and staff across Europe.
Around 9,000 words of copy were written by Digital Consortium to satisfy the requirements concerning content for the website. All copy was proofed and the agency managed any amends requested by Yorkshire Building Society prior to the approved drafts being translated.
One specialist translation company was used for all translation requirements and Digital Consortium took total ownership of this relationship, acting as the first port of call for any queries about the copy and also ensuring that deadlines were met.
In effect Digital Consortium provided project management, copywriting, proofreading and translation services – the latter through a specialist agency – to simplify the whole process for Yorkshire Building Society and make it more cost effective.
In addition, as Digital Consortium has provided Yorkshire Building Society with online creative services since 2007, its depth of understanding of the Society’s philosophy and working practices meant the agency could provide an efficient service that was in tune with its systems and procedures.
Garry P Milner-Brown, Operations Manager for Yorkshire Building Society Shareplans, said: “Digital consortium provided a professional service that has benefited our overall Shareplan offering.”
