To redesign the HTML email templates for Creative Calderdale, Halifax Opportunities Trust and Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre and optimize for mobile.
It’s never been more important for businesses to ensure that their marketing emails can be easily and readily viewed on mobile. Currently DC is favouring the responsive email; this means the email reconfigures itself depending on the device it is being viewed on and you don’t have to start pinching and zooming to view the content – it does it all for you. To read more about responsive websites, see this case study.
Recent marketing statistics show how important mobile responsive email is, with 48% of emails being opened on a mobile device. (Source: Litmus)
With this in mind, we approached our friends at Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre (EWIC) (who also manage and operate the marketing for the two other brands) and we came up with a plan to update their existing templates to optimize for mobile devices.
We’ve created a new mobile responsive email template for each of the three different brands: Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre (EWIC), Halifax Opportunities Trust (HOT) and Creative Calderdale (CC). All based upon the same template structure whilst giving each brand its own individual design.
The final design has been kept clean and simple to allow the content to do the talking, with clear calls to action to read more on the website or to share on social media or forward to a friend.
As with the previous emails used by these clients the system of choice for send remains Squeezymail (www.squeezymail.co.uk) with full stats and metrics to monitor and continuously improve their email marketing efforts. We were excited to see how the new mobile template compared to the previous one and were delighted when the statistics showed an impressive 15.85% click through in late quarter three and early quarter four this year compared to 8.52% for the same period last year.
