Print design and print production is part and parcel of our full service offering as brand guardians to Kiddi Caru – a successful chain of child’s day nurseries throughout the south of England. Our longstanding continuous brand development and on- and offline marketing management has resulted in some impressive literature and marketing materials, so here’s some more about what we have done over the past year or so.
The general marketing leaflets for each nursery underwent a redesign, focusing on the main selling points embracing the out of this world theme with astronauts and planets.
Fun Day promotional leaflets (with associated HTML responsive emails and online graphics for social media) also took up a similar brand refresh to the out of this world style campaign and that project also included stickers for use on the actual fun days across the day nurseries. For the stickers we produced all the artwork to agreed specifications so that the client could order direct from an online print company and re-order at her leisure when stocks were low. This represented a cost saving to the client and ownership of stock control (rather than every single item coming through us as the design agency). We like to work with our customers in a way which best suits their desires and abilities.
The design and print set up for the Activity Sticker Books with colouring-in sections was another exciting job for us; we really loved coming up with themes and scenes for the multi-page activity book. We had produced a colouring-in book in the past, but the addition of sticker activities was a delight.
As stock of the Kiddi Caru company folders was running low it was decided that it was not only time for a reprint of this job but also time for it to undertake a bit of a refresh. The addition of the colourful garden scene theme, along with lots of happy smiley Roos, certainly did the trick of making the new folders more striking and visually appealing. DC manages the print of the folders and arranges for them to be supplied flat for assembly at the nursery and delivered to the stock holding company used by the client.
The previous Kiddi Caru branded backpacks were printed before the brand refresh was introduced a few years ago and subsequently featured the old style logo. These were updated to include the new style Roo character to make them more child-friendly and child-safe as the logo is printed in high visibility yellow, along with light reflective yellow corners. Another addition to these was a PVC name-tag so the nurseries, and the children, could identify whose bag belonged to whom.
Christmas is always a time for events and promotion, especially when children and Santa’s grottos are involved! The design and print theme for 2014 was a winter wonderland and included a lovely new illustration packed with fun visuals of sledging Roo characters and happy snowmen to promote the festive events. The Christmas card-style promotional literature also doubled up as a Santa’s Grotto invitation that also had an associated poster to display on the individual nursery notice boards.
Working with the marketing team at Kiddi Caru is a genuine pleasure. We are considered an extension of their team and regularly come up with ideas and suggestions for new marketing activity on and offline. We are happy to hand-hold when necessary and do as we’re told on other occasions. Our sole objective is to make a positive difference to the marketing of the nurseries and arm the team with everything they need on an ongoing basis and for specific campaigns, ensuring consistency for each and every touch point for existing and potential customers of the nursery.
